Mr. Eberhart founded Eberhart Sign & Lighting Company during the height of the Great Depression in 1936. He built the company upon a foundation of hard work and honest relationships. His uniquely designed and creative signs were featured in ‘Signs of the Times’ – a national sign trade publication. Mr. Eberhart worked in the sign industry for 53 years until his death in 1982.

Mr. Eberhart was the second generation professional of the distinguished Eberhart Sign & Lighting Company who was active in the business since 1970. He and his wife, Monica (Nee Arand, 1947-2010), purchased the business from Ron’s parents in 1977. They continued the Eberhart tradition of “value, quality, and dependability” acting as the President and Secretary/Treasurer. Mr. Eberhart worked diligently in the business until his retirement in June of 2012 when he sold the business to Edwardsville native Sue Shepard Schmidt.
